I will teach you how to make spikes and other additions which you can use to decorate your vessel. I promise that each one will be quite different. These pieces need to be fulled to their limit – you should be able to knock on the felt so that it sounds like wood. About our Instructors

Roslyn Darling has been a handspinner and yarn designer for many years. She is continually adding more spindles, wheels and fibres to her collection. She particularly enjoys the contrast between spinning bulky wool yarns for rughooking floor mats on one day, and then spinning fine silk, cotton and linen threads for knitting, crocheting and weaving on the next day.  She finds blending colours and fibres to be an endless source of pleasure. She has completed the six-year OHS Handspinning Certificate Program, and is a member of the Toronto Guild of Spinners and Weavers and the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners. Roslyn enjoys demonstrating and teaching spinning to all ages in many different venues.

Jane Altobelli is a Fibre Artist who has explored many forms of artistic media including sewing, knitting, spinning, dyeing, wet felting and needle-felting.  Along the road of her creative journey, she has also visited quilting, kumihimo, weaving, beading, silk painting, teddy bear making and embroidery.  As a result, Jane has discovered that nothing she has learned is ever wasted, but gets incorporated some time, somewhere, somehow into her work.  There is evidence of this in her wearable art, such as felted hats and vests, as well as in her needle-felted figures and many other very unique pieces. Jane was a member of Artisans’ Attic, a cooperative shop in Georgetown, where she still sells her one-of-a-kind creations and takes on special commissions for clients.  Jane has taught felting for the past few years to various groups.  Jane is a member of the Georgetown Rug Hookers, Ontario Hooking Craft Guild, Feltmaker’s & Dyehappy (internet lists).
